With her ‘Fashion’ not being able to do wonders at the box-office, Priyanka Chopra has pinned all her hopes on her forthcoming ‘Dostana’ and sure, the lady is leaving no stone unturned when it comes to the film’s promotion. In tune with her promotional campaign for the film, Priyanka appears on the cover of the latest edition of the fashion magazine ‘Verve’ which has named this issue as ‘Dostana special’. Well, it may be known here that ‘Dostana’ is indeed special for the Verve team as Priyanka plays a staff of ‘Verve’ magazine in the film.

The issue includes a fashion shoot on the film’s Mumbai sets, the interpretation of Dostana’s working woman executive through the lens of the skirt suit. If that was not enough, there is also a feature titled ‘Miami Spice’, which has the film’s director Tarun Mansukhani offering some exclusive, behind-the-scenes dope from the sun-kissed beaches of Miami, where much of the film was shot.

The issue also has Priyanka speak about her passions and relationships. She talks about her love for music and says that it ‘is the one thing I find time for, besides my family’. She also recalls the time when she had to shuffle between her hectic shoots and her ailing father. Priyanka confesses that she was a total bully when it came to her brother Siddharth. An issue worth investing in, sure enough!

If you thought that bong beauty Rani Mukherjee had said goodbye to Bollywood, you are in the dark. Yes, her fairy tale makeover in ‘Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic’ failed to do the trick for her, the actress is not the one to quit.

Following Bipasha Basu, this time Rani Mukherjee will be seen wooing younger Shahid Kapoor in the coming year in not one but two flicks. And if reports are to be believed, then the duo will be seen doing several ‘roll in the hay’ scenes in two flicks. The first one is being produced by Rani’s favorite banner ‘Yash Raj’ with beau Aditya Chopra directed by debutante director Anurag Singh.

The other one will be directed by Priyadarshan, it will be a social-drama; and have his trademark wacky comedy. The film is said to be a thriller with loads of twists and turns. It is very different from anything that Priyan has done before. Shahid’s character will have shades of grey. He double crosses everyone including his lady love in the film. The shooting of the film is said to start by early next year.

Priyadarshan, however, denies everything about the flick. He simply says, “I am not aware of this.”

It was grand, grand and indeed a very grand premiere. Attended by an array of glittering stars, Goldie Behl directed film ‘Drona’ was premiered in a gala style in Mumbai.

The entire Bachchan clan was present at the occasion. Aishwarya Rai in a dazzling blue outfit with a perfect poise alongside hubby Abhishek, Big B with wife Jaya, Bollywood’s ‘Baadshah’ Shah Rukh Khan along with wife Gauri, Preity Zinta in a black saree, bubbly Priyanka in a short dress, Sonali Bendre, Sonam Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Adnan Sami, Neelam- the guest list seemed just endless.

Speaking on the occassion, Abhishek refused to tag ‘Drona’ as a super hero movie, and was hopeful that the audience would like it. He was happy that his entire family was present during the premiere and he was also thankful to his friends and other co-stars for being there.

Aishwarya agreed with Abhishek and said that she liked Abhishek’s work in the film, which she enjoyed. Ash said that Drona was more of a fantasy tale, which would be enjoyed by audiences of all ages, including children.

Big-B was impressed with the visual effects of the film and enjoyed watching it. When asked about the success of the film, Bachchan senior said that it was upto the audience to decide and he could not predict such outcomes. Shah Rukh wished for the movie’s success and hoped it to be as exciting as it promised to be

‘Drona’ has Abhishek playing a superhero and Priyanka Chopra playing his bodyguard. The film also stars Kay Kay Menon in a negative role of Riz Raizada and Jaya Bachchan is Queen Jayati, the mother of ‘Drona’.

The coming days are quite apprehensive for Priynaka Chopra for they will decide the fate of tow of her ambitious projects- ‘Drona’ where she plays Abhishek Bachchan’s bodyguard and ‘Fashion’ where she plays a supermodel. After playing a ramp model for “Fashion”, Priyanka recently walked the ramp for designer Ritu Kumar at the inaugural show of the HDIL Indian Couture Week.

Talking about her experience with ramp walk, Priyanka said, “Even after becoming an actress I’ve walked the ramp for friends like Rohit Bal and Vikram Phadnis. But not since I played a model in ‘Fashion’. Now walking the ramp at Ritu’s show it felt like I was doing a sequence for the film. I’ve done so much ramp-walking for the film, I feel I’m back to my modelling days.

At 17 when I first walked the ramp, I had done it for Rituji. And now again, after having played a model and walked the ramp continuously for a year for Madhur Bhandarkar’s film, when I got on the ramp for an actual fashion show, I couldn’t tell the difference between walking for ‘Fashion’ and for Ritu Kumar’s show. Both were ‘performances’ and still an integral part of my growth as a human being.”

These days Priyanka is busy with her shoot for Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Kaminey’. The film needs Priyanka to scream her lungs out for the character she plays and as a result Priyanka is suffering from a sore throat and her voice is reduced to a croak.

“I play this extremely vocal Maharashtrian girl. And I believe in making myself heard. Vishal has made sure my voice gets heard as far as possible,” Priyanka said.

The Shemaroo films are doing the remake of Kishore Da’s superhit ‘Padosan’. Sanjay Dutt will play the role of Kishoreda, Ritiesh Deshmukh Bhola (which was played by late Sunil Dutt), Katrina Kaif Bindu (Saira Bano) while the role of Mehmood’s Master Pillai will be played by Paresh Rawal. The shooting of the film had come to a standstill owing to his court case but the makers are planning to restart it soon.

An a unique experiment, the film is going to maintain the same evergreen songs from the original for the remake. Director Neeraj Vora states, “We will change some tracks so that it won’t look outdated but we will look to re-create melody of that songs.

It is not going to be an easy thing to do but the songs will be mixed and we might add some new songs. It’s too early to comment on these things so let’s see but yes I’m very excited to direct this film as it will have a different flavour of comedy.
